Edinburgh City’s first team hosted their first home games of the season with fixtures against Saint Andrews and Glasgow.
Head coach Dan Pratt was eager to see how the team responded after the club’s Halloween night out the day before and was rewarded with two strong performances and the team’s first double victory of the season.
Edinburgh City (20-7) Saint Andrews
The first match of the day saw Elly Gaunt make season debut, whilst Heather MacKintosh made her first appearance for the first team.
Both teams started brightly, with the scores remaining close through the early stages of the game. Saints’ Andrew Thirlwell continued his strong start to the 2017-18 season with 4 goals, however City’s experience soon shone through and they ran out comfortable winners with a first hat-trick of the season for Emma Cottell.

From there the game remained firmly in City’s control, with goals from 10 different players leading to a well deserved victory.
